In an unusual twist, Gurpreet reportedly came to know about his life-changing win while he was performing sewa at Gurdwara Bajidpur Sahib on Sunday morning.
The news soon spread through his village, triggering celebrations among family members, friends and residents.
“It is nothing short of a dream come true. I never imagined that this ticket would bring me a ₹7-crore windfall,” Gurpreet said, according to reports.

Gurpreet Singh joined the Punjab Police as a constable in 2022 and is presently associated with the 112 emergency response service.

His father, Darshan Singh, previously worked as a railway train guard and retired in 2019. Gurpreet is one of four siblings and has two married sisters and a brother.
