Woman arrested in Mohali with 8 kg of cannabis: Police will investigate drug connections while in custody; accused is a resident of Bihar.

Derabassi police arrested a woman with 8 kilograms of cannabis during a blockade in Mubarikpur. The accused was identified as Savitri Devi, a resident of Rangda village in Bhagalpur district, Bihar, and wife of Pankaj Mandal. The police filed a case under the NDPAs Act and presented her in court, where she was remanded. According to the police, on 29 September, ASI Avtar Singh and his police team were conducting a blockade and investigation near the PWD rest house in Mubarikpur. During this time, a woman from Sanuuli appeared. The police found her movements suspicious, stopped her, and searched her. During the search, 8 kilograms of cannabis were recovered from her bag. The police arrested the woman for possession of cannabis. The case is registered as case number 415 at Derabassi police station. The police are preparing for interrogation; they say that during the remand, the accused woman will be questioned about the source of the cannabis supply and the people involved. The police are also trying to find out where the recovered cannabis came from and who it was intended to be supplied to.
