According to police, preliminary investigations indicate that the accused were allegedly connected with foreign-based smugglers and were receiving consignments of narcotics and illegal weapons through drones before distributing them locally. Police said further investigation is underway to establish the wider network and identify additional suspects. Three Operations Lead to Eight Arrests Police Commissioner Amritsar Harmanbir Singh Gill gave details of three separate operations. In the first case, police arrested Rajinder Singh after allegedly recovering a .30-bore pistol. During the investigation, his associate Vinay was arrested, and police said 4.2 kg of opium was recovered from him. Following Vinay's disclosure, Pradeep Singh was arrested and another 1.2 kg of opium was seized. Police also said approximately ₹62 lakh held in bank accounts belonging to Pradeep Singh and his wife was frozen as part of the investigation. 7 Kg Heroin Recovery in Second Operation In the second operation, police arrested Karan Singh alias Karan and reported the recovery of 7 kg of heroin. Investigators subsequently arrested his alleged associates Navneet Singh alias Keeda and Jashandeep Singh alias Dhuni, according to the police account. Third Operation Uncovers More Heroin The third operation resulted in the arrest of Baljinder Singh and Amrit Pal Singh alias Amrit. Police reported recovering another 2.5 kg of heroin and a motorcycle from the two accused.
