Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday addressed a rally in West Bengal’s Cooch Behar. Launching a sharp attack on the Trinamool Congress (TMC), Modi urges voters to not be scared on polling day and place their trust in the rule of law despite any pressure from Trinamool Congress cadres.
“This ruthless government does not consider any constitutional institution as anything in front of itself. You have seen it just two-three days ago. The judges and citizens of the country were shocked by how judicial officers were held hostage in Malda,” PM Modi said.
“Think what kind of government is this? What kind of system is this? Where even the judges and the constitutional process are not safe. How can we expect the safety of the common people of Bengal from these people? What happened in Malda was not just the insolence of TMC. This is the jungle raj sponsored by this ruthless government…”

This is PM Modi’s first election rally in West Bengal, after the declaration of assembly elections, and the fourth public meeting at the Ras Mela grounds, after his previous rallies at the same venue during his campaign for the 2019 and 2024 Lok Sabha elections and the 2021 assembly polls.
