Haryana to Digitally Monitor Every Pregnancy Through ‘SAMRIDDHI’ Portal

Chandigarh, August 30, 2026: The Haryana government is set to introduce a digital monitoring system that will bring every pregnant woman in the state under a unified healthcare tracking system, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini announced on Sunday.

The initiative, called SAMRIDDHI, is aimed at ensuring continuous monitoring of pregnancies, identifying high-risk cases at an early stage and improving timely access to medical care.

One Digital ID for Every Pregnancy

Under the proposed system, every pregnant woman will be registered and provided a unique SAMRIDDHI ID.

The digital record will contain important pregnancy-related health information and will allow healthcare workers to follow a woman's care journey from pregnancy through delivery and the post-partum period.

Importantly, the system is planned to cover women receiving treatment at government hospitals, private hospitals and medical colleges.

This means that if a woman changes hospitals during pregnancy, her medical information can continue to be updated using the same digital ID.

High-Risk Pregnancies to Get Priority

A major objective of SAMRIDDHI will be the early identification of high-risk pregnancies.

ANMs, doctors and other healthcare officials will receive alerts relating to:

Required medical examinations
Antenatal check-ups
Expected delivery dates
Follow-up visits
Other essential maternal-health services

Women identified as having high-risk pregnancies will receive more frequent follow-up, while women with normal pregnancies are proposed to be contacted every three months. Monitoring will become more frequent as the expected delivery date approaches.

102 Maternal and Child Health Call Centre

The state also plans to establish a 102 Maternal and Child Health Call Centre.

Trained nurses will provide health guidance, assess potential risks and help pregnant women identify the appropriate healthcare facility.

If a high-risk condition is identified during a call, the information will be forwarded to the state Command Centre and recorded on the SAMRIDDHI portal.

Faster Referral to Appropriate Hospitals

The system is also designed to improve the referral process for women requiring specialised treatment.

District and state health authorities will coordinate to ensure that women with high-risk pregnancies are directed to suitable healthcare institutions.

Women will also be informed about appropriate hospitals for delivery according to their health condition, while referrals to higher-level facilities are expected to be streamlined.

Six-Seat Command Centre Planned

A six-seat SAMRIDDHI Command Centre, operating in two shifts under the National Health Mission, is proposed to monitor maternal and child health data, alerts, referrals and follow-ups across Haryana.

District-level monitoring will also involve nursing staff.

The portal is proposed to follow Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) standards and integrate with other health-related digital platforms.

Child’s Health to Remain Connected After Birth

The digital system is not expected to end with delivery.

According to the proposed plan, birth registration will be linked to the SAMRIDDHI ID, allowing the system to continue tracking the child's health after birth.

The broader objective is to create a continuous healthcare record covering pregnancy, delivery, postnatal care and newborn health.
