Samrat Choudhary Bihar CM Oath LIVE Updates: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Samrat Choudhary will take oath as Bihar’s Chief Minister on Wednesday, replacing Janata Dal (United)’s Nitish Kumar, the state’s longest-serving preimer.
Choudhary was elected as the BJP legislature party leader, and met Governor Syed Ata Hasnain to stake claim to form a new government in Bihar. He was accompanied by all the NDA leaders.
He was elected as the legislature party leader soon after Nitish Kumar, who became a Rajya Sabha MP last week, submitted his resignation to Governor Hasnain.
Several senior BJP leaders are expected to attend the oath-taking ceremony of Choudhary and his ministers. Bihar Assembly Speaker Prem Kumar is also likely to be present. Vijendra Prasad Yadav and Vijay Chaudhary are expected to take oath as deputy chief ministers, according to a report by News18 India.
