PM Modi Holds Roadshow In Saharanpur Ahead Of Delhi-Dehradun Expressway Inauguration

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday held a roadshow in Saharanpur while en route to Dehradun, where he is scheduled to inaugurate the Delhi–Dehradun Economic Corridor later in the day.

Large crowds gathered along the route to catch a glimpse of the Prime Minister, with supporters waving and greeting him as his convoy passed through the city.

He undertook a review of the Wildlife Corridor on the elevated section of the Delhi-Dehradun Economic Corridor.

PM Modi will inaugurate the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway, also known as the Delhi-Dehradun Economic Corridor, which is expected to significantly reduce travel time between the two cities. The journey from Delhi to Dehradun will now take around 2.5 hours, nearly half of the earlier travel time of about six hours.

The 213-km-long six-lane access-controlled Delhi-Dehradun expressway has been built at a cost of over Rs 12,000 crore. The corridor goes through Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

After that, he will offer prayers at Maa Daat Kali Temple near Dehradun.Thereafter, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the Delhi-Dehradun expressway at a public function in Dehradun and will also address the gathering on the occasion.

Apart from cutting travel time, the Delhi-Dehradun Economic Corridor is expected to boost regional economic growth by improving connectivity between key tourism and commercial hubs, while also creating new opportunities for trade and development across the region.
