Mahua Moitra alleges harassment on IndiGo flight as men chant anti TMC slogans and film her, urges IndiGo and Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu to act.

Mahua Moitra on Thursday alleged that she was harassed onboard an IndiGo flight from Kolkata to Delhi after a group of men allegedly shouted slogans targeting the All India Trinamool Congress and filmed her inside the aircraft.
In a post on X, the Krishnanagar MP said the incident occurred on IndiGo flight 6E 719 while she was travelling to Delhi for a meeting of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Defence.
Moitra said she was seated in 1F when “four to six men” boarded the flight, stared at her and later began shouting slogans after landing but before the aircraft doors opened.

“I was on seat 1F on 6E 719. 4-6 men boarded in a group, leered at me and went to the back of the plane. When the flight landed and before the doors opened, this is what they did and filmed it,” she wrote.
Videos shared online showed the men chanting slogans such as “Chor chor, TMC chor”, “Pishi chor, bhaipo chor” and “Jai Shri Ram”, apparently targeting TMC chief Mamata Banerjee and party leader Abhishek Banerjee.
Calling the incident “harassment”, Moitra said it violated her safety inside the aircraft.
“This is no ‘citizen anger’. This is harassment and violates my safety in an aircraft. No way that these louts can get away with this harassment inside an airplane,” she said.
The MP urged IndiGo to review the crew report, identify the passengers involved and place them on a no-fly list. She also tagged Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu seeking action.
Neither IndiGo nor the civil aviation ministry had issued a response at the time of reporting.
The incident comes amid heightened political tensions in West Bengal after the Bharatiya Janata Party ended the TMC’s 15-year rule in the recent Assembly elections, winning 207 of 294 seats.
The TMC managed 80 seats, while Mamata Banerjee has so far refused to resign despite the dissolution of the West Bengal Assembly and may move the Supreme Court challenging the election outcome.
