“Kindly find enclosed herewith the communication received from the Dy. Inspector General, Civil Defence & SDRF, Jammu, vide No. CD-Revamping/2404-38 dated 18-04-2026, regarding the subject cited above. In this regard, you are requested to coordinate with Civil Defence authorities and other line departments to ensure effective planning, preparedness, and smooth conduct of the said mock exercise in District Poonch w.e.f. 20th to 24th April 2026,” the order, accessed by News18, reads.
The administration has directed that necessary arrangements — including public awareness campaigns, logistics, and coordination with other stakeholders — shall be made well in advance.
An official said that the drill aims to test emergency response mechanisms and public compliance during simulated blackouts.
