Nitin Nabin on Thursday launched a sharp attack on the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC), alleging that the party represents “anarchy, infiltration and lawlessness” in West Bengal. He accused the Mamata Banerjee government of failing to act against illegal infiltration and said the issue would cost it politically. The BJP leader joined for an exclusive interview with Rahul Joshi, MD & Group Editor-in-Chief, Network18.

He also questioned the state government’s position on voter rolls, alleging that the Chief Minister was advocating for “voters who do not exist.”

“The names of Bangladeshi infiltrators will definitely be removed; it does not matter whether they are a minority or a majority. We are accountable to the citizens of this country; we are not accountable to foreign nationals. Why is Mamata Banerjee batting for them?” he said.

‘Cut Money Culture’ Hurting People

The BJP leader claimed that welfare schemes in the state are being undermined by corruption, alleging that financial assistance given to women is partially taken back by local TMC cadres as “cut money.”

He said women across Bengal feel betrayed, citing concerns over safety, dignity and lack of accountability. “Maa, Maati, Manush has become a lost cause,” he said, adding that women voters are increasingly backing the BJP.

Push For Free And Fair Polls

On the deployment of central forces, Nabin said all necessary measures should be used to ensure free and fair elections. He maintained that the BJP’s campaign is focused on reaching genuine voters and restoring governance.

He also expressed confidence in “unprecedented results” in the state, reiterating that the BJP will form the government with a clear majority.

Highlighting the party’s messaging, Nabin said “Modi ki guarantee” continues to resonate with voters, positioning it as a promise people trust.
