The swearing-in ceremony will take place at Khanapara in Guwahati. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman are expected to attend. Chief Ministers from 22 NDA-ruled states and Union Territories, BJP leaders, ambassadors, industrialists and religious leaders will also be present. From non-NDA states, only Lalduhoma will attend.
4 Ministers and assembly speaker to take oath
Sarma announced that four ministers including Rameswar Teli, Atul Bora, Charan Boro and Ajanta Neog along with the Assembly Speaker, will also take oath. He said the final list of ministers would be decided after discussions with BJP national president Nitin Nabin.
The BJP-led NDA, which includes the BJP, AGP and BPF, secured a third straight term with 102 seats in the 126-member Assembly. The BJP alone won 82 seats. BJP president JP Nadda said eight BJP MLAs proposed Sarma’s name as legislature party leader.
