Election Results 2026 Haryana Local Body Polls Live Updates: Counting of votes for Haryana’s local body elections will begin on Tuesday for key municipal corporations, councils and committees across the state, including Ambala, Panchkula and Sonipat. The elections, held on Sunday, recorded an overall voter turnout of 54.5 per cent, according to State Election Commission data.

The elections covered mayoral and ward councillor posts in the municipal corporations of Ambala, Panchkula and Sonipat, along with elections in the Rewari municipal council and municipal committees in Sampla, Dharuhera and Uklana. By-elections for one ward each were also held in Tohana, Jhajjar, Rajound, Taraori, Kanina and Sadhaura.

Ambala recorded a voter turnout of 54.4 per cent, Panchkula 52.7 per cent and Sonipat 47.9 per cent. In Hisar, Rewari and Rohtak districts, turnout figures stood at 75.7 per cent, 66.1 per cent and 79.2 per cent respectively.

A total of 4.75 lakh voters exercised their franchise out of 8.73 lakh eligible electors.

The BJP and Congress are the principal contenders in the elections. BJP candidates Akshita Saini, Shyamlal Bansal and Rajiv Jain are contesting the mayoral races in Ambala, Panchkula and Sonipat respectively, while the Congress has fielded Kulwinder Kaur, Sudha Bhardwaj and Kamal Diwan.
