A routine visit to a government office in Chhattisgarh turned into an unusual protest that has since gone viral, drawing attention to bureaucratic delays and missing public records.

The incident reportedly took place at the Tifra Housing Board office, where a man identified as Tarun Sahu expressed his frustration over a property file that he claims has been untraceable for more than a year. According to a report by India Today, Sahu had been making repeated visits to the office to complete the mutation process for a flat he purchased through resale.

Mutation is a necessary administrative step to officially transfer property ownership. However, Sahu alleged that despite multiple follow-ups, officials were unable to locate his file and at times suggested it may have been misplaced altogether. The delay, he said, has left him without formal ownership documents even a year after the purchase.

In a video that has now gained significant traction online, Sahu is seen staging a symbolic protest by scattering almonds across an officer’s desk. The gesture appeared to be a pointed remark, as almonds are commonly associated with improving memory.

He is heard saying in Hindi, “For the past one year, this official has been troubling me. She has not been able to find my file at all,” underscoring his frustration over the prolonged process.

The clip has circulated widely on social media, sparking conversations about inefficiencies in government offices and the challenges citizens often face when dealing with routine administrative procedures.
