Assembly Elections 2026 Live: With just days left for the first phase of voting in West Bengal and the only round of polling in Tamil Nadu for the upcoming Assembly elections in the two states, parties have stepped up efforts to woo voters. In Bengal, Health Minister JP Nadda will hold two roadshows and a public rally from 11 am on Monday. On the same day, BJP chief Nitin Nabin will hold a public rally in Purba Medinipur at 10.30 am.
Earlier on Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed four back-to-back election rallies across the Jungle Mahal region. PM Modi asserted that the upcoming assembly election in West Bengal was a battle to save the state’s identity, accusing the Mamata Banerjee government of pursuing politics that favoured “infiltrators” over the native population. Addressing a rally in the tribal-dominated Jhargram district ahead of the April 23, Modi alleged that the TMC wanted to form a “government of infiltrators and for infiltrators”, urging voters to unite to remove it from power.
