Wrestlers from Sichewal Academy of Kapurthala won eight medals: Competing against Punjab’s Khadand Vatan in Jalandhar, they secured a spot in the state‑level contest.

Under the Khadan Vatan Punjab Diyan program, under‑14 and under‑17 wrestling matches were held at the Hans Raj Wrestling Stadium in Jalandhar. Wrestlers from the Sichewal Academy won eight medals at the district level and secured a place for state‑level competitions. The academy’s Sukhmanjit Singh (38 kg) and Manraj Singh (52 kg) clinched first place. Jag Rup Singh Jwanda (41 kg), Kamalpreet Singh (45 kg), Lakshdeep (48 kg), and Adarsh Kumar (92 kg) took second place. Veerpratap Singh (35 kg) and Simarpreet Singh (48 kg) earned third place. All of these athletes are students of Sant Avatar Singh Ji Yadgari Senior Secondary School. The school provides coaching and facilities to help them progress in sports alongside their studies. Sant Balbir Singh Sichewal expressed his joy at the wrestlers’ achievement and congratulated everyone.
