Nanded Weapons Haul: Police in Nanded seized a massive cache of sharp weapons, including thousands of swords and daggers, during a raid at a house in the city’s Wazirabad area, officials said. Acting on a tip-off, a team from the Nanded Rural Police Station conducted a search operation at a residence in Ramdas Nagar, where they recovered around 4,796 sharp weapons. The haul included a large number of swords, daggers and koytas, police said.

According to officials, the estimated value of the seized weapons is around Rs 43.5 lakh.
Police arrested 27-year-old Abhijit Girish Satpute in connection with the case. Preliminary investigations suggest that the weapons were allegedly being stored for sale and were meant to be supplied to different locations. Police have registered a case against him under sections 4/25 and 7/25 of the Arms Act at Nanded Rural Police Station.
The recovery created panic in the area, with investigators now trying to determine where the weapons were sourced from and who they were intended for. The operation was carried out under the guidance of Nanded Superintendent of Police Avinash Kumar, Additional SP Archana Patil and other senior officers.
Police said a detailed probe is underway to identify others linked to the alleged illegal weapons network.
Senior official Avinash Kumar praised the police team for the operation and said the crackdown against illegal arms trade would continue.
“Strict action will be taken against those trying to disturb law and order,” he said.
