After being away from public events since the Bharat Rashtra Samiti’s loss in the 2023 Assembly elections, party chief and former Telangana chief minister K. Chandrashekar Rao attended a big party event in Jagtial on Monday.
Members of his party see his appearance as a morale booster to the cadre who had gathered for the Praja Ashirvada Sabha.
KCR arrived in Jagtial to a grand welcome and held a meeting with local leaders. Former Congress leader T Jeevan Reddy, along with many former Congress workers, joined the meeting.
This comes just five days ahead of a scheduled public meeting by KCR’s daughter, K Kavitha, in which she is expected to announce the launch of her new party. Also, speculations are rife amid speculation that the BRS may change back to its earlier name, Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS).
Kavitha To Launch Her New Party On April 25
Kavitha had announced the launch of a new political party in Telangana on April 25, making a direct appeal to the youth and people of the state to actively participate in politics.
In a video message, Kavitha said politics is too important to be ignored and urged young people not to stay away from the political process.
“I want to request people of Telangana, please don’t think politics is not our job. Definitely, politics is our job,” she said. She stressed that politics affects every aspect of daily life and should not be seen as something distant from ordinary citizens.
“Politics is not rocket science. Even if it is rocket science, it is an imperative thing in our life which cannot be ignored,” Kavitha said.
Appealing especially to the youth of Telangana, she said real change can only come when people enter the political system and work from within.
