The police have arrested two individuals in separate operations and recovered heroin from their possession, officials confirmed on Sunday. The arrests were made during routine patrols and checking of suspicious persons in different areas.
In the first incident, Balvinder Kumar, also known as Sonu, resident of Rasoolpur, was apprehended by a police team during patrol duty. The suspect allegedly attempted to dispose of a packet and tried to walk away quickly.
Acting on suspicion, the police stopped and detained him. Upon checking the discarded packet, officers recovered approximately 7 grams of heroin.
In a separate case, another accused, identified as Jatinder Singh, was arrested during a similar checking operation. Police officials stated that the suspect attempted to flee after noticing the police presence and threw a small packet into nearby bushes.
The police team quickly apprehended him and recovered around 2 grams of heroin from the spot. Further investigations are ongoing to determine the source of the contraband.
