Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri kicked off his three-day visit to the United States, starting today, April 8. Vinay Mohan Kwatra, India’s Ambassador to the United States, received Vikram Misri in Washington.
He underlined that Misri’s visit will provide both sides with an opportunity to advance deliberations across key sectors of the bilateral agenda.
In a post on ‘X’, Kwatra wrote, “Welcomed Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri to Washington, D.C. His visit offers an opportunity to review with our partners the full breadth of the India–U.S. partnership, and to advance discussions across key pillars of our bilateral agenda – including trade, defence, technology, and exchange perspectives on regional and global developments.”

During Misri’s visit, discussions will focus on strengthening ties between the two nations, along with regional and global developments, according to a statement by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).
In an official statement, the MEA said that the Foreign Secretary’s visit to the United States would, “provide an opportunity to review the full spectrum of India-U.S. bilateral relations and advance ongoing cooperation across key areas.”
“During the visit, the Foreign Secretary will hold discussions with senior officials of the U.S. Administration on a wide range of issues, including trade, defence, science and technology, as well as regional and global developments of mutual interest”, the statement said.
Earlier in February, External Affairs Minister (EAM) S Jaishankar visited Washington for a regular high-level discussion covering multiple high-level dialogue covering multiple aspects of the bilateral relations, including strategic cooperation, trade, and regional and global issues.
