A teenage boy and girl died by suicide after jumping in front of a train in Rajasthan’s Alwar district on Friday morning. The incident took place near the Surer railway station.

Two minors knew each other and studied in the same school. The boy had recently passed Class 12, while the girl had just entered Class 12, according to police cited by India Today. Preliminary probes suggest they were in a relationship, which their families did not approve of.

Social Media Message Before Death

Before the incident, the boy shared a message on social media that read: “Achanak mar bhi gaya to dukhi mat hona mere dost, vaada dosti ka kiya tha zindagi ka nahi. (If I die suddenly, don’t be sad, my friend; I had promised friendship, not life),” as reported by the outlet.

Families Speak

The boy’s father told police that his son left home on Friday morning without informing anyone and later went to the railway station with the girl. He said he does not suspect any foul play.

The girl’s father said she was at home until late Thursday night and was sleeping in the same room as the family. When he woke up early on Friday, she was missing. Despite searching, they could not find her. Later, they learnt that she had gone to the railway station with the boy.

Further probe into the matter is underway.
