Madhya Pradesh Woman Plots Husband’s Murder With Lover’s Help, Stages It As Robbery; Arrested

MP woman and her lover were arrested for plotting husband’s murder in Bhind, crime staged as robbery, third suspect absconding.

A 23-year-old woman has been arrested for allegedly plotting her husband’s murder with her lover in Madhya Pradesh’s Bhind district and attempting to pass it off as a robbery, police said. The incident occurred under the jurisdiction of the Ater police station and comes shortly after a similar case in Dhar district.

According to Superintendent of Police Asit Yadav, the accused, identified as Ruby and her partner, Vishal Vimal (21), have been detained, while another alleged aide remains on the run.

‘Robbery’ Cover-Up Busted

The killing came to light on April 8 when police received information that a man identified as Nilesh Jatav (27) had been shot dead while riding a motorcycle with his wife and child. Ruby initially told investigators that unidentified assailants attacked her husband after she got off the bike to pick up her bag that had fallen on the Ridoli-Kharika road while they were travelling, PTI reported.

However, inconsistencies in her statements raised suspicion. “During the investigation, the wife’s statements appeared suspicious. Police then questioned her using psychological methods, which led to the case being solved,” the SP said.

Woman’s 7-Year Long Affair With Lover

Investigators later found that Ruby had been in a long-term relationship with Vimal and allegedly viewed her husband as an obstacle. Police said the duo planned the killing, with Ruby intentionally dropping her bag at a pre-decided spot to make her husband stop. As he halted, Vimal and another associate allegedly shot him dead.

Thereafter, police launched a probe after registering a murder case against the shooters.

Authorities have recovered a country-made pistol, cartridges, a motorcycle without registration, and mobile phones. Efforts were underway to apprehend the absconding accused, identified as Rajesh Kushwah.
