Lebanon’s presidency said that Lebanon and Israel held their first contact via a telephone call between their ambassadors in Washington on Friday (April 10, 2026), with the participation of the U.S. ambassador to Lebanon.
The statement said the call was part of diplomatic efforts aimed at securing a ceasefire and launching negotiations, adding that the two sides agreed to hold a first meeting on Tuesday (April14, 2026) at the U.S. State Department under U.S. mediation.
