At least people from Punjab died after a boat carrying tourists capsized and overturned in Yamuna river in Vrindavan. The tragic incident took place on Friday afternoon, and the rescue efforts are underway. As of now, bodies of six people have been recovered.
District Magistrate Chandra Prakash Singh confirmed the incident.┬аAccording to the details shared by Mathura DM, 30 pilgrims had come from Ludhiana. Their boat overturned in the Yamuna river. So far, 6 bodies have been recovered. 16тАУ17 people have been safely rescued. Efforts are underway to find the rest. Army and NDRF have been deployed.
Rescue operations are underway with teams of State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), and around 50 local divers.┬аA local diver, identified as Gulab, said about 15 people have been pulled out so far.

CM Yogi Adityanath instructed the officials to swiftly reach the site and ensure that appropriate compensation is provided to the families of those who lost their lives in the unfortunate incident.
