Massive Fire Engulfs Eight Auto-Rickshaws In Ghatkopar East, No Injuries Reported

An investigation to determine the cause of fire is underway and further details will be shared in due course of time, said officials.

A fire that broke out in Mumbai’s Ghatkopar East, on Wednesday gutted around 8 auto-rickshaws, causing alarm among local residents. According to officials, the Fire Department rushed to the spot and successfully brought the blaze under control, preventing it from spreading further. No injuries have been reported so far.

The exact cause of the fire remains unknown at this stage. Police have launched an investigation to determine how the fire started and what led to all the vehicles being engulfed in flames.

The manner in which all the rickshaws were completely gutted has raised concern and curiosity in the neighbourhood, with residents awaiting clarity on the incident.

Massive Fire Engulfs Textile Factory In Surat

In another incident reported on Wednesday, a massive fire gutted a textile factory in Surat. No injuries have been reported. According to a report by PTI, the fire erupted around 10 am at the Gopi Knitting textile factory, part of Hojiwala Industries, in the Sachin industrial area.

The fire department was called at around 11:30 am and they declared a “major” emergency after the blaze spread rapidly, fuelled by fabrics and nylon material, and soon engulfed the entire factory, an official said.

More than a dozen fire tenders were dispatched to the scene, and precautionary measures were implemented to stop the flames from reaching nearby factories, he added.

The fire has since been brought under control, and cooling operations are in progress. No injuries have been reported in connection with the incident, the official said.
