A wave of concern hit Preet Nagar, Phagwara, after the body of 70-year-old Lal Chand, a Kangra native, was found hanging from a ceiling fan in his rented home. Locals alerted authorities after noticing unusual circumstances, creating panic in the neighbourhood.
The police reached the scene, took the body into custody and sent it to Civil Hospital for post-mortem. Preliminary reports indicate the death may be a suicide. However, the police maintained that the investigation was still underway and all possible angles were being examined. A case has been registered and further action will be taken based on the findings of the post-mortem report.
