The readiness for the counting of votes for Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti seats was examined by Commissioner of Police Dhanpreet Kaur and Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal on Tuesday during their visit to various centers.
Throughout the inspection, the District of Columbia emphasized the importance of officials following the State Election Commission’s instructions to the letter. For the sake of maintaining order and meeting deadlines, he carefully examined all arrangements at the counting centers and gave instructions to the relevant Returning Officers.
The correct procedure for the controlled entrance and exit of the counting personnel, candidates, and their authorized representatives and authorities has been developed, according to Aggarwal. He emphasized the importance of every officer and staff on duty giving their all to their work.
According to the DC, each of the eleven blocks now has its own dedicated center. The following locations have been designated as centers: School of Eminence, Adampur Block; Government Senior Secondary School (Girls), Bhogpur Road, Bhogpur; Doaba College, Jalandhar East; Lyallpur Khalsa College for Women, Jalandhar West; Government ITI, Lohian Khas; Guru Nanak National College, Nakodar; Doaba Arya Senior Secondary School, Noormahal; Community Hall, Phillaur; Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Sangh Dhesian; and Government Arts College, Shahkot. On December 17, at 8 a.m., the tallying of votes will start.
The district’s eleven secure rooms have been equipped with failsafe security measures, according to CP Dhanpreet Kaur. She went on to say that top-level security was in place in the secure rooms to make sure the counting went off without a hitch.
