Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann distributed appointment letters to 1,746 newly recruited constables at the PAP Ground in Jalandhar, reinforcing the state government’s commitment to empowering youth through dignified government employment.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister highlighted that since March 16, 2022, the Punjab Government has provided 63,027 government jobs, averaging nearly 45 appointments every single day—an unprecedented achievement in the state’s history.

“It is a matter of pride that some youngsters have secured two or even three government jobs during the tenure of this government,” CM Mann said. “From my very first day in office, I ensured that deserving youth get their rightful place purely on merit.”

The Chief Minister emphasized that the recruitment process was conducted with complete transparency, free from political interference, favoritism, or corruption—restoring faith among Punjab’s youth.

Of the total recruits, 1,261 constables have been appointed to the District Cadre, while 485 constables have joined the Armed Cadre of the Punjab Police. CM Mann congratulated the recruits and their families, calling the occasion a “new beginning” not just for the individuals, but for Punjab’s law and order system.

“Today, 1,746 more youth have joined the Punjab Government family. You are now active partners in Punjab’s social and economic development,” he added.

He encouraged the constables to become an integral part of governance by working closely with communities and helping the underprivileged.

Highlighting the broader strengthening of the police force, CM Mann revealed that 10,264 youth have been recruited into various ranks of the Punjab Police over the last four years.

“Punjab Police has always played a vital role in protecting national unity and maintaining peace in this sensitive border state,” he said. “Because of the sacrifices of our police personnel, Punjab is known today as a peaceful and stable state.”

A major focus of the Chief Minister’s address was the ongoing fight against drug trafficking under the ‘Yudh Nashean Virudh’ campaign.

“Punjab is fighting a decisive war against drug terrorism,” CM Mann said. “Drug peddlers are being sent behind bars, and properties built with drug money are being demolished.”

He announced the launch of the second phase of the campaign, emphasizing that the government will not rest until the drug menace is completely eliminated from the state.

He also praised the Punjab State Cyber Crime Wing, which recently won the Excellence Award–2025 at the Digital Evidence Summit in New Delhi for its outstanding work.


Action against gangsters and road safety reforms praised

CM Mann reiterated that a decisive crackdown against gangsters is underway, stating that strict action will continue until criminal networks are dismantled completely.

He also highlighted the success of the Sadak Surakhya Force, formed to improve traffic management and reduce road accidents.

“Since its formation, road accident casualties have reduced by 48%, an achievement appreciated by the Government of India,” he noted.
