Fire erupted in two coaches of Hyderabad-Jaipur Special Express at Nampally Railway Station. Cause of fire under investigation.

A fire broke out in two air-conditioned (AC) coaches of the Hyderabad-Jaipur Special Express at Nampally Railway Station on Friday evening, triggering panic among passengers and onlookers. However, no casualties were reported in the incident.
According to railway authorities, the blaze started in the B1 and B2 coaches of the train’s 3-tier AC section shortly before the train was scheduled to depart for Jaipur at 7 pm. Thick smoke quickly spread across the platform area, prompting an immediate emergency response. Soon after, a police team rushed to the spot.
Flames Brought Under Control, Cause Not Known Yet
Fire and rescue teams also rushed to the station after receiving the alert and deployed three fire engines to contain the flames. After an intensive operation, firefighters managed to bring the situation under control before the fire could spread further, India Today reported.
Visuals circulating on social media platform X showed flames rising from the coaches while dense smoke engulfed parts of the station. Videos also captured anxious passengers moving away from the platform as firefighters worked to douse the blaze. Large crowds gathered near the site as smoke billowed into the sky, turning the area grey.
Officials said a major tragedy was averted as the affected coaches were empty at the time of the incident. Railway staff swiftly evacuated passengers from nearby compartments and coordinated with emergency personnel during the rescue effort. Further, the exact cause of the fire is not known yet. Railway authorities said a detailed investigation will be conducted to ascertain how the incident occurred.
