Assembly Elections 2026 Live Updates: The campaign for the second phase of the West Bengal Assembly elections concluded on Monday, marked by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s letter to voters and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s warning against the BJP’s “divisive” politics.
Political heavyweights made their final push ahead of the April 29 polling, as voters across the remaining 142 assembly constituencies prepare to cast their ballots. What began as an ideological contest, however, soon escalated into an intense war of words.
A total of 3,21,73,837 electors are eligible to vote across 142 assembly constituencies in the second phase. The results of the two-phase assembly polls will be known on May 4, when the counting of votes takes place.
