UP boy, 11, suffers severe burns after caterer allegedly throws him into burning tandoor over rasgullas at Basti wedding, case filed, accused absconding, probe ongoing

An 11-year-old boy suffered severe burn injuries after he was allegedly thrown into a burning tandoor by a catering worker for repeatedly asking rasgullas during a wedding in Uttar Pradesh’s Basti district, police said on Friday.
The incident took place on April 15 in Malauli Gosai village under Chhawani police station limits. The child had gone to attend the function with his grandmother.
Caterer Gets Angry At Kid For Asking Rasgullas, Throws Him Into Tandoor
According to police, the catering contractor got angry after the boy repeatedly took rasgullas from a food stall. He allegedly threatened the child and then lifted him and placed him on the burning tandoor. During the struggle, the boy lost balance and fell into the oven.
Hearing his screams, family members rushed to the spot and pulled him out. He suffered severe burns from his face to his waist.
The child was first taken to Ayodhya Medical College and later referred to Lucknow Medical College due to the seriousness of his injuries.
Police have registered a case against the accused catering worker, who fled the spot. Teams have been formed to trace and arrest him.
Officials said further investigation is underway.
