TCS suspends Nashik staff after eight women allege sexual harassment and forced religious conversion.

IT major Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) on Sunday issued a statement and reiterated its zero-tolerance policy towards harassment and coercion, confirming the suspension of employees allegedly involved in a sexual harassment case at its Nashik office.
The company issued the clarification following serious allegations by eight female employees, who have accused senior colleagues of sexual harassment and forced religious conversion.
The company, in a statement, said, тАЬTCS has a long-standing zero-tolerance policy towards harassment and coercion of any form. We have always ensured the highest standards of safety and well-being of our employees at the workplace. As soon as we were made aware of the matter in Nashik, we took swift action.”
The employees being investigated have been suspended pending enquiry, the companyтАЩs spokesperson said, adding that the firm is cooperating with local law enforcement authorities and any further action will be based on the conclusion of this investigation.
TCS Nashik Sexual Harassment Case
The controversy escalated earlier this week after the Nashik police formed a special investigation team (SIT) to probe the complaints. The complainants alleged that they were subjected to mental and sexual harassment by senior staff members and that the companyтАЩs human resources department ignored their grievances.
As part of the ongoing investigation, the police have arrested seven people, including the companyтАЩs female HR manager. TCS, while confirming the suspension of the accused employees, maintained that it has long enforced a strict policy against any form of harassment or coercion in the workplace.
