He cleared NET, taught law, and secretly bombarded India’s courts with hoax emails — over 1,000 of them. Behind the campaign was one man, one phone, and a family grievance that never got its day in court.

Who Is Srinivas Louis?

He was a 47-year-old assistant professor living in a rented room in Mysuru with his elderly mother as his only family.

On the surface, an educated, quiet man. But on his mobile phone — sent multiple times a day, to courts, schools, and government offices across India — were over a thousand hoax emails that kept institutions on edge and investigators scrambling for months.

Delhi Police arrested Srinivas Louis on Monday, and he has been remanded to six days in their custody, ANI reported.

What Drove Him To It?

The answer, police sources say, goes back years — to a land dispute in Mysuru that swallowed his father’s life.

Louis’s father was allegedly denied his rightful share of a family property, and the legal battle dragged on without resolution.

Watching his father fail to get justice left a mark on Louis that never healed. Rather than walk away, he did something unusual: he decided to study law himself. He cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) and went on to work as an assistant professor.

But the resentment never left. It curdled, quietly, into something more dangerous.

How Did He Pull It Off?

Louis used a potent combination of legal knowledge and technical skill. Most emails were sent directly from his mobile phone — but he was adept at masking his IP address, making it nearly impossible for authorities to pin him down early on.

The emails, often written in Kannada or English, were fired off multiple times a day to different locations simultaneously, ANI reported.

His targets were sweeping: high courts across several cities, the Supreme Court, government offices, and schools. He is also suspected of sending emails to locations in Pakistan.
